Due to the extreme demands resulting from their attention to impaired “loved ones”, an emphasis on the overall well being and emotional needs of the “Caregiver” becomes the program focus. Creative ideas and concrete suggestions for the benefit of the “Caregiver's” psychosocial health are presented. The informative approach of this program validates the current emotionally challenging personal situation of the audience participants.
ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA: IS
IT OR ISN'T IT?
Compares and contrasts the various types and causes of
“DEMENTIA”. Through an analysis of the various clinical symptoms and
characteristics of this disease, participants become better able to understand
the impact upon themselves and their victimized “loved ones”. Practical
solutions to behavioral issues, supervision of individuals, visitation
considerations and insights for effective interaction are presented.
RESIDENT'S RIGHTS
Examines the fundamental resident's rights that are guaranteed within the long-term care facility setting. Particular consideration is given to the expression of concerns by the consumer (resident/family) & the facility protocol for investigation & follow-up. This forum allows for the provision of specific questions from audience participants with explanations provided.
OLD SCHOOL-NEW SCHOOL: A
HUMOROUS REVIEW OF OUR CHANGING SOCIETY AND TIMES
This satirical presentation presents a ‘lighthearted' review of the many changes within our society over the past generation. A comparison of the moral, ethical and social values of previous generations, with those of the current times, provides the background for a candid and humorous assessment of our lives. This presentation encourages participants to reflect on the basic social issues within our schools, workplace and family settings.

HOLIDAY EMOTIONS
This program discusses those unique personal
challenges that we experience during the ‘Holiday Season'. Suggestions for
stress & time management are proposed. An examination of the emotional impact
of the ‘Holiday Season' on caregivers & professional staff will be conducted.

PRACTICAL STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING BEHAVIORAL PERFORMANCE
This program examines those strategies that are
fundamental to successful behavioral improvement. Considerations for
establishing positive expectations will be examined. Systematic methods for
setting goals and increasing individual accountability are discussed. Specific
steps for addressing performance improvement issues are outlined for use on a
daily basis. Included are practical recommendations for providing individuals
